Tuna Cheese Melt Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
- 16 oz. Shell pasta
- 16 oz. Tuna (flaked)
- 6 oz. Swiss cheese (grated)
- 4 cups Milk
- 3 cups Broccoli florets
- 2 tbl. All-purpose flour
- 2 tbl. Butter
- 3/4 tsp. Salt
- 1/4 tsp. Ground black pepper
- 2 Tomatoes (sliced)
Method
- In a large saucepan, cook the pasta shells in salted water for about 5 minutes before adding the broccoli and cooking for a further 5 minutes.
- Drain out the water and return to the saucepan.
- Take another saucepan and melt the butter over a medium heat.
- Add the flour, salt and pepper while stirring.
- After a minute, pour in the milk and increase heat while stirring until it thickens.
- Then bring to the boil before removing from heat.
- Now add the grated cheese while stirring.
- Put the pasta mix in a greased casserole dish.
- Pour in the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Cover the top with the sliced tomato and sprinkle liberally with cheese.
- Cover the casserole.
- Bake in an oven preheated to 4005° F for about 25 minutes.
