Tuna Cheese Melt Casserole Recipe

Ingredients

  • 16 oz. Shell pasta
  • 16 oz. Tuna (flaked)
  • 6 oz. Swiss cheese (grated)
  • 4 cups Milk
  • 3 cups Broccoli florets
  • 2 tbl. All-purpose flour
  • 2 tbl. Butter
  • 3/4 tsp. Salt
  • 1/4 tsp. Ground black pepper
  • 2 Tomatoes (sliced)

Method

  1. In a large saucepan, cook the pasta shells in salted water for about 5 minutes before adding the broccoli and cooking for a further 5 minutes.
  2. Drain out the water and return to the saucepan.
  3. Take another saucepan and melt the butter over a medium heat.
  4. Add the flour, salt and pepper while stirring.
  5. After a minute, pour in the milk and increase heat while stirring until it thickens.
  6. Then bring to the boil before removing from heat.
  7. Now add the grated cheese while stirring.
  8. Put the pasta mix in a greased casserole dish.
  9. Pour in the cheese sauce and mix well.
  10. Cover the top with the sliced tomato and sprinkle liberally with cheese.
  11. Cover the casserole.
  12. Bake in an oven preheated to 4005° F for about 25 minutes.
