Seared Tuna with Wasabi Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 oz. Tuna steaks
  • 1 1/4 cup White wine
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Cilantro leaves
  • 1/4 cup Onions (chopped)
  • 2 tbl. Wasabi paste
  • 2 tbl. Lime juice
  • 1 tbl. Olive oil
  • 1 tbl. Soy sauce
  • 1 Ginger root (crushed)
  • Seasoning

Method

  1. Add the lime, white wine, ginger, garlic and onion to a saucepan and cook over a medium heat.
  2. Reduce heat, simmer and reduce.
  3. Strain out the onions, garlic and ginger and throw away.
  4. Add the soy sauce and wasabi sauce.
  5. Then add the butter while stirring constantly.
  6. Gently stir in the cilantro leaves.
  7. In a separate bowl, combine the olive with a tablespoon of the sauce.
  8. Brush the tuna steaks with the mixture.
  9. Place under a hot grill, turning every couple of minutes until cooked.
  10. Serve on a plate and drizzle with the sauce.
