Pan Seared Tuna Steaks with Lime Pepper Crust Recipe
Ingredients
- 24 oz. Tuna steaks
- 2 tsp. Olive oil
- 2 tsp. Thyme leaves
- 1 tsp. Ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 1 Lime zest
Method
- Clean the tuna steaks with cold water and dry by patting them with paper towels.
- Grate the lime, then squeeze the lime and keep the juice.
- Combine the lime zest, thyme, salt and pepper in a small bowl.
- Brush the tuna steaks on both sides with olive oil.
- Roll the steaks through the mixture, coating well.
- Heat a little olive oil in a large skillet over a medium heat.
- Drop in the tuna steaks and sear them on both sides until they turn golden brown.
- Lift out of the skillet onto preheated serving plates.
- Pour the reserved lime juice over the tuna steaks and garnish with lime wedges.
