Spanish Flour Tortillas Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 cups White all purpose flour
  • 1 cup Water (hot)
  • 1/2 cup Lard
  • 1 tsp. Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt

Method

  1. Mix the flour, salt and lard in a bowl until it forms small balls.
  2. While mixing, pour in the water until you have a soft ball of dough.
  3. Knead the dough until totally smooth and without lumps.
  4. Cover the bowl with a damp towel and set aside for about 15 minutes.
  5. Roll out about 10 equally sized balls of dough, then flatten each ball into a thin round dish.
  6. Heat a skillet and drop in the discs, flipping them intermitently until cooked on both sides.
