Spanish Flour Tortillas Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 cups White all purpose flour
- 1 cup Water (hot)
- 1/2 cup Lard
- 1 tsp. Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. Salt
Method
- Mix the flour, salt and lard in a bowl until it forms small balls.
- While mixing, pour in the water until you have a soft ball of dough.
- Knead the dough until totally smooth and without lumps.
- Cover the bowl with a damp towel and set aside for about 15 minutes.
- Roll out about 10 equally sized balls of dough, then flatten each ball into a thin round dish.
- Heat a skillet and drop in the discs, flipping them intermitently until cooked on both sides.
