Fried Calamari Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. Squid
  • 1 cup Pancake batter mix
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  • Cold water
  • Cooking oil

Method

  1. Cut the squid into 1/2 inch rings.
  2. Fill a bowl with ice and add the calamari.
  3. Prepare the pancake batter in a separate bowl, stirring while adding water.
  4. While stirring, add the salt.
  5. Heat a skillet over a steady medium heat with some oil.
  6. Dip the calamari in the batter.
  7. Drop the battered calamair in the skillet and fry until brown.
  8. Drain off any excess fat on paper towels.
  9. Serve with a garnish of lemon wedges and parsley.
