Charcoal Grilled Squid Recipe

Ingredients

  • 500 g. Squid
  • 1/2 cup Coriander leaves
  • 7 tbl. Fish sauce
  • 2 tbl. Peanut oil
  • 1 tbl. Salt
  • 1 tbl. Lemongrass (chopped)
  • 1 tbl. Soy sauce
  • 1 tbl. Lime juice
  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • 1 tsp. Curry powder
  • 1 tsp. Five-spice powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Pepper
  • 2 Garlic cloves (crushed)

Method

  1. Rub the squid with the salt, then rinse off under cold water.
  2. Cut the top of the squid diagonally on the inside surface.
  3. Now cut the squid into small bite-sized pieces.
  4. Set the prepared squid aside.
  5. Take a mixing bowl and mix the sugar, lime juice, sesame oil, soy sauce, lemongrass, curry powder, five-spice powder, peanut oil, garlic cloves and pepper.
  6. Now add the squid while stirring. Cover and refridgerate for an hour.
  7. Heat a charcoal grill, making sure there is a good smoke.
  8. Add the squid and grill until browned.
  9. Serve with a garnish of lemon wedges, coriander leaves and fish sauce dip.
