Mulled Oysters Recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 Oysters (with liquid)
  • 3 tbl. Water
  • 1 tbl. Cornstarch
  • 1/8 tsp. Kitchen bouquet
  • 4 Bacon slices
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • Cajun seasoning
  • Seasoning
  • Cooked rice

Method

  1. Cut the bacon into 1 inch wide strips.
  2. Heat a skillet over a steady heat and fry the bacon until.
  3. Once fried, lift off the heat and set aside.
  4. Reserve about 3 tablespoons of the fat.
  5. Add the chopped onion and fry until tender and brown.
  6. Then add the oysters and cook until the edges start to curl.
  7. In a separate bowl, combine the water and cornstarch.
  8. Pour into the oysters.
  9. Add the kitchen bouquet, cajun spice, seasoning and mix well.
  10. Cook the rice.
  11. Serve the oysters and sauce on a bed of rice.
  12. Sprinkle the bacon over the top.
