Mulled Oysters Recipe
Ingredients
- 12 Oysters (with liquid)
- 3 tbl. Water
- 1 tbl. Cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp. Kitchen bouquet
- 4 Bacon slices
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- Cajun seasoning
- Seasoning
- Cooked rice
Method
- Cut the bacon into 1 inch wide strips.
- Heat a skillet over a steady heat and fry the bacon until.
- Once fried, lift off the heat and set aside.
- Reserve about 3 tablespoons of the fat.
- Add the chopped onion and fry until tender and brown.
- Then add the oysters and cook until the edges start to curl.
- In a separate bowl, combine the water and cornstarch.
- Pour into the oysters.
- Add the kitchen bouquet, cajun spice, seasoning and mix well.
- Cook the rice.
- Serve the oysters and sauce on a bed of rice.
- Sprinkle the bacon over the top.
