Mississippi Fried Oysters Recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 Oysters
  • 2 cups Cornmeal
  • 2 tbl. Flour
  • 2 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Sugar
  • 2 Eggs (beaten)

Method

  1. Soak the oysters in the beaten eggs.
  2. Take a mixing bowl and combine the cornmeal, salt, pepper, sugar and flour.
  3. Roll the oysters through the flour mixture.
  4. Drop the oysters into a deep frier at 350°F.
  5. Fry until brown.
  6. Drain excess oil off using paper towels.
  7. Serve immediately.
