Deep Fried Bacon Wrapped Oysters Recipe
Ingredients
- 12 Oysters (shelled)
- 1 cup Mixed nutmeats
- 1/2 cup Flour
- 3 tbl. Smoked ham
- 2 tbl. Soy sauce
- 2 tbl. Sherry
- 3 slices Bacon
- 1 slice Ginger
- 1 pinch Salt
- 1 pinch Pepper
- 2 Scallion stalks
- Oil
- Lemon wedges
Method
- Mince the ginger root and combine with the soy sauce and sheery.
- Add the oysters in a bowl and set aside for 15 minutes.
- Drain the oysters and discard the juices.
- Crush the nutmeats into a powder.
- Cut each bacon strip into 4 pieces.
- Dip each oyster in the crushed nutmeats and top with smoked ham and scallions.
- Then wrap each oyster with a slice of bacon.
- Beat the eggs lightly, then add the flour, salt and pepper while stirring.
- Dip the bacon wrapped oysters in the flour mixture.
- Heat a deep frier and deep fry the oysters until browned.
- Remove and dry off on kitchen paper.
- Place on a serving plate, garnish with lemon wedges and serve.
