Creamed Oysters with Rice Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups Cooked rice
- 1 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 cup Oysters in liquor
- 3 tsp. Butter
- 2 tsp. Flour
- 2 tsp. Parsley (chopped)
- 1 dash Paprika
- 1 dash Ground black pepper
- 1 dash Tabasco sauce
- 6 Cooked eggs (halved)
Method
- Cook the oysters in liquor in a skillet over a steady heat for 5 minutes.
- Add the butter and flour. Cook until browned.
- Drain the liquor from the oysters and add about 1 - 1 1/2 cups of milk.
- Lift out the oysters and set aside.
- Add the salt, pepper, tabasco sauce, celery and parsley.
- Stir well to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
- Add the oysters back in and cook through.
- Cook the rice.
- Arrange rice on a plate.
- Place the sliced eggs over the rice.
- Pour the creamy oysters over the top.
- Sprinkle with paprika and parsley.
