Butter Steamed Mussels Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 lb. Mussels (cleaned)
  • 3/4 cup White wine
  • 1/2 cup Parsley (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Shallots (chopped)
  • 2 tbl. Butter
  • Black pepper

Method

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan and sauté the shalots.
  2. Once sautéd, add the wine and mussels.
  3. Raise the heat enough to steam the mussels for about 5 minutes, or until the shells open.
  4. If some of the shells don't open, remove them.
  5. Pour the mussels and the butter sauce into a serving bowl.
  6. Garnish with black pepper and chopped pepper before serving.
