Canarian Meatballs Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. Lean ground beef
- 1 1/2 cups Breadcrumbs
- 1 cup Water
- 1/2 cup Dry white wine
- 4 tbl. Olive oil
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 tsp. Oregano (dried)
- 1/2 tsp. Thyme (dried)
- 1/4t sp. Pepper
- 1/8 tsp. Nutmeg
- 4 Garlic cloves (crushed)
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- 1 Carrot (chopped)
- 1 Red pepper (chopped)
- 3 Eggs
Method
- Heat some olive oil in a hot skillet.
- Add the onion, carrot, red pepper, garlic, oregano, thyme, pepper, nutmeg and bay leaf.
- Stir and cook through.
- Remove the bay leaf and pour into a food processor.
- Combine the ground beef, salt, oregano and eggs in a mixing bowl.
- Roll into meatballs and coat in flour.
- Add the meatballs to a skillet and brown.
- Now add the sauce, water and wine while stirring.
- Bring to the boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.
- Serve the meatballs covered in the sauce.
